Mustang Broncos defeat Edmond Santa Fe 76-68 in class 6A State Quarterfinals, advance to semifinals

The Mustang Broncos are headed to the state semifinals after defeating Edmond Santa Fe 76-68 Wednesday night in the OSSAA Class 6A Boys Basketball State Tournament quarterfinals at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
Mustang controlled much of the night against the Wolves, using balanced scoring and strong defensive stretches to build a lead that Edmond Santa Fe could never fully erase.
The Broncos were led by Marquell Robinson, who scored a game high 17 points, helping spark Mustang’s offense in key moments throughout the contest. Teammate Garrett Smith added 14 points and four rebounds, providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor as Mustang pushed ahead in the second half.
Mustang entered the matchup with a strong season record and continued its momentum in the state tournament. The Broncos have averaged nearly 74 points per game this season, one of the stronger offensive marks among Class 6A teams.
Strong second half pushes Mustang forward.
The quarterfinal matchup featured two of Oklahoma’s top programs, with Edmond Santa Fe entering the tournament with one of the state’s best records.
After a competitive first half, Mustang found separation with improved ball movement and transition scoring in the second half. The Broncos maintained their lead late in the fourth quarter and closed out the game at the free-throw line to secure the 76–68 victory.
The win advances Mustang deeper into the OSSAA state championship bracket, which features the top Class 6A teams from across Oklahoma competing for the title.
Semifinal matchup set for Friday.
With the quarterfinals victory, Mustang moves on to the class 6A state semifinals where the Broncos will face Putnam City North.
The semifinals game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Carl Albert High School.
A win would send Mustang to the class 6A state championship game putting the Broncos one step closer to a state title.
