Millwood Football Coach Michael Billingsley, Five Players Held Out of Season Opener
Millwood High School opened its 2026 football season Friday without first year head coach Michael Billingsley and five players as the school reviewed a reported rules violation involving members of the Falcons football program.
Millwood Public Schools said it had been made aware of a rules violation involving members of the team and elected to hold Billingsley and five players out of the season opening game against Marlow while the matter was being investigated. the school indicated that no final determination had been made at the time of the decision.
Assistant coach Gerald Jones stepped in as head coach for the game.
The Falcons, ranked No. 6 in Class 2A-II entering the matchup, fell 60-12 to Class 3A No. 4 Marlow.
The information regarding Billingsley and the five players being held out was first reported by Nick Sardis of The Oklahoman.
