Rickey is a standout boys basketball point guard and runs 100m, 200m and 400m events for East Central High School Cardinals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a class of 2026 Senior and is 5’9” at 165lbs.

I asked Rickey some questions so we can get to know him better and see what make goes into making an top student athlete and here is what he had to say:
Introduce Yourself: I’m Rickey Darnell Bruner III, I’m from Tulsa Oklahoma. I enjoy playing sports, spending time with friends and family, and watching good movies
How It Started, What got you started in your sport?: I’ve been around it all my life
Biggest Moment: Winning MVP in New York Lincoln railsplitter classic
Training Routine: Early morning 5:00am with weights and shooting/ skills workout after lunch around 12:45/ 2:40 weights and track practice/ and then one last session of shooting after track
Biggest Challenge and how did you overcome it?: One of the biggest challenges for me was confidence but over time I learned to overcome that and have unwavering confidence
Leadership, What does being a great teammate or leader mean to you?: It means the world to me because I know what it feels like when you have people around you that are willing to get you outside your comfort zone for your benefit
Role Models, Who do you look up to and why?: I look up to my grandpa, I would like to resemble the same type of character that he has
Life Beyond Sports: My dream career is Dentistry
What's Next: I’m going to pursue my education and basketball career at midland Texas
Advice: Trust in God, Be consistent in your work and the results will take care of themselves
Favorite Food/Resturant: Shrimp Alfredo
