Athlete Spotlight: Obama Bell Makes Immediate Impact at Mustang

This week, the Alonzo Adams Media Athlete Spotlight turns to Mustang senior Obama Bell, who wasted little time in making his presence felt in a new uniform. After transferring to Mustang from Putnam City West, Bell opened the 2026 season with a two way performance that helped the Broncos defeat Choctaw, 27-7 on August 28 in the first week of Oklahoma high school football.
Bell rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown while also making an impact in the secondary with an interception and several pass breakups. The performance helped Mustang start the season 1-0 and earned Bell recognition as one of the standouts of the Broncos’ season opening win.
For Bell, the move to Mustang represents a new opportunity. After spending three seasons at Putnam City West, where the Patriots earned only three victories during that span, Bell is already beginning to make a name for himself with the Broncos. Bell has shown in one game he can contribute on both sides of the football and he will be a player worth watching as the 2026 season continues.
